Challenges and Solutions for Adult Caregivers

Being an adult caregiver was one of the most challenging jobs I have ever had ! As my parents aged and eventually passed away taught me may lessons that I now have a passion for sharing with other people caring for an aging loved one. These lessons also helped me guide the development of my personal care/private duty company, Caregiving Experts. I know from personal experiences how important having a professional caregiver available is people care for an aging loved one!.

My personal experiences also inspired me to write a book called “A Son’s Journey: Taking Care of Mom and Dad.” The book is a guide for adult caregivers. My hope in this book is through humorous stories, tragic experiences and life changing events you will be better able and equipped to care for your loved ones when needed. I share strategies, approaches and resources that will make your journey successful as you deal with your aging parents or a loved one. Learning how to talk to your aging loved one is an Art and specific approaches and phraseology are given. Learn about the signs of caregiver burn out and how to manage them. Caregiver burn out that goes unchecked can be more damaging then you think. I will give specific criteria you can follow on how to locate and hire a reliable and qualified Personal Care Home Health Company. There are many horror stories out there about families who have made big mistakes. I dedicate one chapter to how falls are the major killer of seniors and how to prevent them. And another chapter on the gift of hospice.

As nurse and health care professional I recognize the important of having the support and resources required to care for a loved who needs assistance and care.
